CO2 emissions: The Beacon
95% lower
than a standard diesel generator
At The Beacon events a Hydrotreated Vegetable Oil (HVO) generator and battery were used and fuel use continuously monitored. This was compared to three counterfactual situations based on the same pattern of use: 1) a HVO generator without a battery; 2) a diesel generator with a battery; 3) a diesel generator without a battery. The fuel used in each scenario was converted to emissions using Greenhouse Gas Conversion factors from the Department for Energy Security and Net Zero for 2025.
